Apple Cobbler

Today is Johhny Appleseed's birthday so it would be a good day to make apple pie, or apple dumplings, or apple cake or apple cobbler, or. . . you get the picture!  This dessert  tastes so good on a cool, autumn day.  Serve it warm with vanilla ice cream and excite your taste buds!

Apple Cobbler

9 cups (7-8) apples, peeled, cored and sliced
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup slightly softened butter
2 eggs
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.  Place apples in ungreased 9 x 13" pan.  Stir sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over apples.

In large bowl, add remaining ingredients and beat on low with electric mixer until crumbly.  Don't overmix or you'll have one big clump.  Sprinkle over apples and bake for 40 - 50 minutes until top is golden brown.
Serve warm (it tastes 100% better this way -- just zap it in the microwave for 20 -25 seconds)!
