I have some good news -- moderate consumption of honey does not cause weight gain (according to a 2004 study done at the University of California and their definition of moderate was 4 - 10 tablespoons per day)!  Now, that's a sweet reason to add some to your diet!!

Another reason to have honey on your shelf is because it can be applied to the skin to remove wrinkles and pimples.  Honey contains antioxidants just like fruits and vegetables which actually help to slow down the aging process.  It is due to the fact that it neutralizes free radicals (which are everywhere and not good for us).

Because honey is an antibacterial and an antifungal agent, it helps to disinfect and speed up the healing of burns, scrapes and wounds.

Honey helps to nourish the skin because it is rich in vitamins, minerals and amino acids.

Honey also makes an effective moisturizer because it binds moisture to the skin and helps it to stay hydrated.
