Health and Fitness

Do you know where paprika comes from?  It is made from sweet red peppers, green peppers or hot chili peppers that have been ground up.  It is considered one of McCormick's top seven super spices.  Some of the reasons include:

It has lots of vitamin C which means it is high in antioxidants.  Antioxidants are good for helping to prevent colds, help your body to absorb iron, slow down the aging process, help to protect against heart disease, etc.

It can also aid in digestion, improve circulation, and even help with blood pressure.

It is used as an antibacterial agent and even used to treat tiredness, lethargy and depression.

Note:  Paprika that is organic and sun-dried is better for you than processed paprika because it has more vitamin C.

  1. My daughter keeps telling me to use smoked paprika in a dish for vegetarians when I would have used bacon for meat eaters.

  2. I may have to try that! Believe it or not, I am truly enjoying eating more vegetarian meals. I didn't know what I was missing -- LOL!
