With all that soup you may be making, I thought you might like to try this grilled ham and cheese sandwich that has a little different taste than your regular ham and cheese sandwich. This would also be good with slice tomato nestled between the ham and some mozzarella cheese.
Actually, there are lots of variations that you could try. Use chicken in place of the ham and some soy sauce instead of the Worcestershire sauce. Add some green pepper, sliced onion and Swiss cheese for a whole different flavor. Tell me what combinations you come up with it!
Ham & Cheese With A Twist
3 Tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 Tablespoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
8 slices of bread
4 slices American cheese
1/2 pound ham
In a small bowl, mix butter, brown sugar, mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Brush butter mixture on outside of 4 bread slices. Layer ham and cheese on each slice. Top with remaining bread and brush the outsides with butter mixture. In skillet, cook sandwiches on medium heat until browned on both sides.
Servings: 4 sandwiches
