Health and Fitness

Eggplant is good for your brain. . . it really is.  It is one of the best sources of nasunin which is an antioxidant that helps protect the fatty acids that we need for healthy brain function.

It is also a good source of dietary fiber and vitamins A, B1, B6 and C.

Eggplant promotes good health by the compounds it contains such as potassium, calcium, manganese, magnesium, copper, niacin, phosphorus, and folic acid.

It helps prevent cancer, helps lower cholesterol, helps prevent heart disease and helps keep your digestive system regular.

Eggplant has no fat and there are only 27 calories in a one cup serving.

Although there are many health benefits of this fruit, if you suffer from kidney or gall bladder problems you should avoid eating eggplant.  The reason is because it contains a good amount of oxalate which can lead to some health problems.
