As promised, here is the chocolate version of the ice cream desserts that I made for my son's birthday party. Per the birthday boy (and other party participants!) this was "yummy", "very good", "awesome", etc.!
12 ice cream sandwiches
8 oz. Cool Whip (or whipped topping), divided
1/2 cup hot fudge ice cream topping, warmed
1 pkg. (4 serving) instant chocolate pudding mix
3/4 cup chopped butterfingers
Layer the ice cream sandwiches in a greased 9" x 13" pan (cut them to fit). Mix 1 cup of Cool Whip and hot fudge topping. Add the dry pudding mix and stir until blended, about 2 minutes. (If mixture is too thick to spread, add up to 1/4 cup milk.) Spread pudding mixture over ice cream sandwiches. Sprinkle 1/2 cup butterfinger candy over pudding mixture. Freeze for one hour. Spread remaining Cool Whip over top. Sprinkle remaining butterfinger candy over all. Freeze for at least 4 hours before serving. When ready to serve, let it sit for about 10 minutes to make it easier to cut. Store leftover dessert in freezer.
Servings: 12 - 16 servings

This sounds delicious! But how much hot fudge ice cream topping is it? It just says 1/2. Is that half a cup, half a jar (if so, what size jar), what? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sorry -- it is half a cup. I will change it -- thank you for letting me know!
